It's about to be festival season in South Africa and we're not going to let you miss out. We're taking you on an adventure through nature, culture, taste and sound, visiting Cape Town, Johannesburg, and one of the most popular multi day music festivals in the country... Rocking The Daisies 2019. 


For the second year in a row, join our crew for a seamless adventure where you don't have to lift a finger! Once Travel will be crossing the country to attend one of the top rated music and arts festivals along with exploring Cape Town and Johannesburg in three different package options.

DAY 1 - Thursday 3rd


Arrival airport transfer, checkin @ Once in Cape Town and presentation of schedule. Join us for a night out in the city!


'First Thursdays' nightlife event falls on this day (aptly named for the once-a-month free event) where bars and restaurants spill out onto the pavement with their own street food options, while local musicians belt out their beats onto a lively crowd. Spaces around the city are transformed into galleries and local art is on show for the public to appreciate or purchase.


DAY 2- 4 Friday 4th, Saturday 5th, Sunday 6th


Three days are spent at Rocking The Daisies festival. You will return to Once in Cape Town on Sunday night. No meals are included. Delicious local food stalls will be serving up cuisine to fuel you for 3 days.

DAY 5 - Monday 7th/ Package 1 ends. 


Full day Urban Safari! This day trip ticks all the boxes in one jam packed day full of culture, history, cuisine, scenery and local beer and wine.



  1. Bo Kaap: Colourful houses neighbourhood rich Cape Malay culture and slave history.

  2. District Six: A siginificant neighbourhood linked to the Apartheid era.

  3. Woodstock: One of the oldest suburbs in South Africa, learn about the street art initiative.

  4. Lunch: Visit a famous former brewery that is now a lunch time hot spot in an industrial area.

  5. Chapman's Peak Drive: Meander along this world renowned road carved into a a cliff face.

  6. Wine tasting: Visit arguably one of the most beautiful wineries in the Western Cape.

  7. Sundowner spot: It's a secret!



Day 6 Tuesday 8th
Package 2 ends. 


Fly to Joburg and check in at Once in Joburg.


Head to Ponte Tower for sunset beers and 180 degree views of Joburg's skyline. Today the Ponte Tower, also known as the Vodacom Tower has become a model for the regeneration and revitalisation of Joburg's inner city. This building was once symbolic of crime, where gangs and squatters hijacked the building, pushing out its residents. The core of the building had garbage that rose 13 storeys high!


Day 7 Wednesday 9th


Learn about the dark history of the Apartheid regime through a guided tour of the Apartheid museum. The Museum allows visitors to experience the racial segregation that occurred during apartheid by separating them by racial appearance classified by the width of the nose, the kinks in hair, skin pigmentation, and size of lips as well as the language they spoke, and most ultimately their race.


We then take you to SOWETO, the largest township in South Africa and heartbeat of the nation. Soweto is brimming with history, culture, and diversity. Explore by bicycle and easily move between the various neighbourhoods. Experience life and culture interacting with people and at the same time learning about Soweto’s rich history. A traditional African lunch is served.

Day 8 Thursday 10th


Road trip 6 hours approximately outside of the city for a Game Drive through the famous Kruger National Park. Watch out for The Big 5! Spend the night in this stunning region.


Day 9 Friday 11th


Spend the day relaxing and gearing up for a Friday night of entertainment at Chafzar Lifestyle resort. Known for a real 'kasi' night of party and live music.


Day 10 Saturday 12th


Head back to the cosmopolitan streets of Joburg for one last hoorah. Starting with a walking tour of Braamfontein, uncovering alleyways of graffiti and the country's most epic farmers markets with pop up food and fashion stalls. Walk around with a beer or cocktail in hand as you choose some new outfits and presents for your friends and family before returning home the next day.


For your last night, be led on the best pub crawl in the city, uncovering different neighbourhood hot spots for locals. Expect to be out to the early hours of the morning. You may want it to be a night to remember, but with all the fun involved you will most likely forget it.


Day 11 Sunday 13th


Departure day. Free time to explore more unique African markets.

Was absolute quality could have been a week long!! Artists were amazing, bar service was quick and efficient.. Felt like we had much more space when we camped.. Never saw any fights which was great.. Lekker to have the rugby on creates a good vibe.. You guys should really look at adding another one of these events to the year.. Top stuff - Matthew
